Hi Everybody
HAPPY NEW YEAR
We hope you have had a great break and enjoyed some time with your families.
Last term was a busy one with our ‘Lower School’ Dance showcase and taking part in the Halloween procession along the seafront in October. Rayleigh lights Switch on and Dance Exams in November. Performance at the Methodist Church and Drama exams in December.
On top of that we have delivered Lindy Hop workshops in two schools as part of their WW2 projects, Physical theatre and Rain forest workshops in two other schools, four holiday Activity workshops, short breaks for disabled children days and mainstream workshops in the school holidays. Also our PALS have been out entertaining in 3 different care homes.
All this on top of providing our regular timetable.
Also, 3 of our students have gained places on; Performers Elite and Ballet Rambert Associates, this means they spend even more time training on top of the 6+ hours a week they do with us and 2 of our Senior Students auditioned successfully for the Grays Pantomime.
And now it’s ‘Show term’! We have 130 students registered for the show and it’s full steam ahead for rehearsals, choreography and costumes. If your child isn’t taking part this year and you aren’t on holiday please try and get some tickets to support us. It’s always great to see how the whole school works together and everyone works so hard.
However, if your child isn’t in the show, this won’t affect their classes and they can still attend as normal.
I’m told tickets go on sale on 16th Jan !

Painting
You will notice that our studio’s are reception area are gradually being redecorated. Many thanks to the staff and fundraising team for their help but also to the parents who have helped us with this as part of their companies: Cash for hours campaigns. This is where some companies allow employees to volunteer their time to a charity (whilst still paying them) and pay the charity for the hours they do! Many big companies do this as they can claim it as a charity donation so if your company might do this, there is always so much we need help with. Besides painting the rest of the building. If you think you might be able to do this please do get in touch.
On that note. Happy New year everyone. Here’s to a great term and can’t wait to see all of your wonderful children in classes.
Kind regards
Penni Bubb xx
