Student Teacher Training Programme

Student Teachers & Buddies

Once students have reached a certain level of confidence, they can be invited to become ‘Buddies’.

These young people volunteer in classes to help the younger students and those with additional needs to access the activities and provide them with support and companionship.

They may then be invited to become ‘Student Teachers,’ who take on a higher level of
responsibility within our organisation. These young people are trained in aspects such as First Aid, Behaviour Management and Safeguarding. It is a wonderful foundation for roles of responsibility for their future, and creates good citizenship.

The Student Teacher Training Programme is a two-year course designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to support children in the classroom/Studio. The training includes safeguarding, mental health awareness, first-aid procedures, communication, and administrative responsibilities, among other key areas. Students are encouraged to participate by asking questions during sessions, helping them develop a range of transferable skills. By the end of the training, they will be confident in their role as a student teacher, and able to take on further responsibilities.
