Dear Parent/Carer

I hope you are well. We would like to kindly remind you of the correct attire students should wear when attending Dance classes. We have noticed a drop in the standard of appropriate clothing and hair. We do not enforce a strict  uniform, however, we would be open to looking at this is something you feel would be suitable to support you.

Appropriate dancewear is particularly important, as it ensures students are able to participate comfortably, professionally, and, most importantly, safely during lessons.

Hair should be neat and tidy, with all loose strands secured, and styled in either a ponytail, bun, or French plait. This helps students participate without distraction and supports safety during movement-based activities in class. If you are unable to create the required hairstyle, please feel free to bring your child in a little earlier with a hairbrush, hair grips, and hair bands, and we will be happy to assist.

Students should also wear leotards for dance classes rather than skirts, with the exception of Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet classes, where leotards with skirts form part of the uniform. This helps to ensure the safe execution of exercises while also maintaining students’ comfort and modesty during certain movements within the class.

It also shows respect for the activities they are participating in and to the staff who are training them.

So for easy reference for all Ballet, Tap and Modern, Acro, Stretch & Tech classes and Senior Dance

Leotard and tights (bare legs for younger students)

Hair scrapped back

Appropriate foot wear (or bare feet)

Remember we are able to order these items for you and there is a rail of second hand dance wear and shoes in repletion available for a small charity donation.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to discuss this.

Many thanks
