I Dance: U Dance – new Dance sessions in Rayleigh with Parents & Toddlers in mind

I Dance U Dance flyerMushroom Theatre Company are launching new dance sessions on Friday mornings, specially designed with Parents and Toddlers in mind.

Our new studios give us an exciting new opportunity to run two classes simultaneously: Adults in one Studio, Children in the other… and FUN for all of course!

Although the sessions have been designed with Parents and Toddlers in mind, our usual friendly flexibility applies… adults can attend I Dance without a child, and young children can attend U Dance even if their parents aren’t taking part.

Each session is just £5, or £8 for both parent and child to join in and run from 10am to 10.45am at Equal People PA, Brook Road, by Rayleigh Weir.

Give it a shake for charity

well, that got your attention! For those who thought “I can’t dance as well as that” during the show, our next event requires no skill or talent…

This Saturday, 15 March, we’ve been given the opportunity to collect parking charges from a Car Park in Basildon Town Centre. If you’re able to pop down for an hour or three to shake a bucket and collect people’s donations PLEASE let us know!

Rayleigh Lights – Thursday 28 November

lightsOur Singers will be performing at the Rayligh Lights switch-on this year, together with our Infant class that usually meets at that time.

Infants and Singers should meet at the performers’ tent outside Boots at 5.15pm ready to perform at 5.30pm.

Penni’s letter asks that they ‘rap up warm’… but they may want to wear warm clothes, and festive head gear too!

See you there.

London 2012 – One Year On

Dear Students and Parents

As part of the local celebrations of ‘London 2012 One Year’ on, we have been asked to develop two community youth performing groups. One Dance and one Drama, in the spirit of the Olympic and Para-Olympic games.

To this end we are inviting young people between the ages of 11 and 18 to attend two taster sessions at the above address on:

Thursday 28th March
6 till 7pm – Dance
7 till 8pm – Drama

The groups will be performing at events throughout the summer of 2013 and beyond. The idea being that the groups will go on and evolve as a lasting legacy of these incredible Games.

We will be covering all styles of Dance and Drama and students will be given the opportunity to devise their own work.

No previous experience is necessary but it would be an advantage, however enthusiasm and a sense of humour are compulsory!

It is essential that you book a place for the tryouts as spaces will be limited so please call Penni on 07985422485 if you want to be part of this exciting new project.

Yours faithfully

Penni Bub
