Back by popular demand! We’re pleased to be welcoming John Rawnsley from Raw Apple Communications to run a Race Night for us on Saturday, 18 November 2017 at Equal People Performing Arts, Rayleigh.
Fish and Chips will also be arranged (sausage or veggie spring roll if preferred) and included in the ‘minimum donation’ price of £8 each. Bring your own drinks and additional nibbles to suit.
As well as being able to sponsor a horse in each race, we’re opening each race up for sponsorship too, and looking for local businesses that would like to sponsor a race for a £30 donation to the charity. In exchange we’ll promote them on the night as well as on social media leading up to the event.
For more details of sponsorship Contact Steve or email email@example.com;
to book in for the evening, contact the studios on 01268 906470 or enquire at reception.
MTC Team hopes you had a great Summer and are looking forward to the next few months of Show Preparation and somewhere in the middle of that … Christmas!
We had a very busy Summer holiday of workshops, the busiest we have ever had. Carnival week was a massive success culminating in us winning First place in our Class on the night and then subsequently winning the vote for Best Overall entry! So well done to everyone who helped and everyone who took part.
Our new timetable launches this week and I ask you to bear with us as we settle in to the new arrangements, but for those of you who are wondering, we needed to change the Modern classes to during the week as we could not fit them all in on Saturdays and whilst we were doing that we thought it best to streamline the other classes at the same time.
The show is booked for:
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 January at The Towngate Theatre Basildon.
- Weds 25 October
- Sunday 10 December
- Sunday 17 December
- Weds 27 December
- Thurs 28 December
- Friday 5 January
- Saturday 6 January
- Sunday 7 January
Children will be needed all day or part of the day depending on what we need to cover on that day.
Show registration dates are:
- Saturday 7 October 10.30 – 12.30
- Saturday 14 October 2pm – 4pm
You MUST come along during one of these times if you wish to take part in the show, otherwise we will assume you do not wish to. This will not affect your child’s attendance, as we will all learn the show pieces anyway.
There will be additional costs involved in the show, but we do try to keep these to a minim.
We are also very lucky to have secured tickets to see Lee Mead in Panto at the Cliffs in Jack and the Beanstalk, front row, opening night Saturday 16 Dec Evening performance at a reduced cost of £28.50, these will be sold on a first come first served basis, please let us know asap if you would like some tickets.
Hope you all have a fabulous half term.

School Holidays are over, and we’re back with a new Timetable!
Just a few quick reminders and notices to kick-start the term though…
You will have received a “Personal Information Form” over the Summer – please return ASAP, or pick a new one up.
It includes several new questions, which help with funding applications and planning, but have a chat with us if you’re unsure about anything on the form – there are no trick questions!
Class Fees should be paid via Standing Order please – you set this up with your Bank yourself, and you remain in full control of this. Payments are due by the 5th of each month.
Show Registration dates have been set. The Show (13-14 January 2018 at Towngate Theatre, Basildon) is entirely optional, but everyone is welcome to take part, and classes will continue as usual for those that choose not to. Anyone wanting to be in the show though MUST attend ONE of the sessions:
• Saturday 7th October 10.30am -12.30pm
• Saturday 14th October 2.00pm – 4.00pm
Our Fundraising Team are always looking for new ideas (and offers of help) – please contact Steve to chat about this more.
The Studios are available for hire – whether that’s for other arts/exercise classes, parties, meetings, interviews… contact us for info.
The growth of the Special Needs Musical Theatre class and the continued successes of many Students in the ISTD exams means we have to squeeze more classes into the week: a great problem to have!
The new timetable along with a class list has been on display at the Studios for a few weeks, and is now available online.
Several classes have had to be moved to accommodate changes and progression, but we have tried to minimise the impact where possible, and to keep classes together where the same children are attending. Massive thanks to Conor and Ellen for all their help!
We have an exciting fun-filled summer programme lined up this year, with Workshops every Tuesday and Thursday and Carnival Week 14-18 August.
As usual, the workshop days run from 10am to 3pm, and children should bring a packed lunch. The workshops are usually £15, but we have funding through Short Breaks for children who have additional needs ad a statement at school, reducing the cost for them to just £7. If you are uncertain about eligibility please contact us.
Carnival Week runs from Monday 14 August to Friday 18 August, 10am-3pm, and we then join the procession along Southend seafront on Saturday evening. The cost for the week is £80 (£10 deposit required ASAP). Short Breaks workshops will still run on the Tuesday and Thursday for those not doing the full week.
